A certified nursing assistant, or CNA, helps patients with activities of daily living and other healthcare needs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). CNA’s are also commonly referred to as a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Assistant (PCA), or a Nurse’s Aide.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Education: A high school diploma or GED required. At least one year of patient care experience in a health care facility or as CNA is preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations: Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina; must be current in the Nurse Aide Registry. Will be required to maintain American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
