Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Pediatric Child Abuse Pediatrician at the Associate Professor or Professor level to serve as the Division Chief to the Division of Child Abuse Pediatrics. Currently the Division includes one faculty member, one fellow, seven advanced practice providers and many other support staff and PSANEs.

The MUSC Child Abuse program is recognized throughout the community for its expertise. It provides consultation for clinics at MUSC Health in downtown Charleston as well as MUSC Health outreach clinics, the Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center and the Dorchester Children’s Center.

  • Candidates must be board eligible or certified.
  • Candidates must have or be eligible for a South Carolina Medical License.

Responsibilities will include patient care, teaching, research work, administration, institutional service, and professional development. Physician duties include the supervision of the clinical nurse specialists in addition to coordinating care with a multi-disciplinary team. MUSC serves as a regional center with a full complement of pediatric sub-specialists.

MUSC is the premier medical center and academic teaching hospital in South Carolina and the only quaternary referral center for children in the state.
