Job Description

Perform a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks in assisting physicians, performing complex and invasive cardiovascular procedures which include carotid and peripheral vascular procedures, pacemaker and ICD implants, all of which would utilize scrubbing, monitoring, and recording hemodynamic parameters, in accordance with policy and procedures. 

Additional Job Description

Experience: Desirable characteristics include at least two years of experience in a critical care setting or in performing similar type procedures (ie: Special radiologic procedures and/or Cardiac Cath Lab). Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given.  Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress. Flexible start times. On call requirements, including 30 minutes arrival time.  Ability to communicate clearly in English.  Must be able to get to work for scheduled shift in the event of inclement weather. Required to wear leaded apron vest and thyroid collar (approximately 15 lbs).

Education: Qualifications in a clinically related profession.  (i.e.: Paramedic, Radiologic technologist, Respiratory Care Practitioner, etc.) Minimum if two years prior experience in Cardiac Cath Lab.    

License/Certification: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist or eligible SCRQSA license required, Advanced ARRT registration preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association.
