Job Description Summary
The MUSC Advocacy Program (MAP) Social Worker (MSW) reports to the Social Work Manager of Case Management and Care Transitions. Under the program guidance of the MAP Social Work Lead, the MAP Social Worker provides direct support and interventions to patients and their families when there is a suspicion or report of abuse and/or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, intimate partner violence (IPV), and/or human trafficking. This role provides education, counseling, safety plans, lethality assessments and referrals to resources such as IPV/Elder Abuse agencies, safe houses, therapists, free or low-cost legal aid agencies, DSS and law enforcement agencies. This position communicates findings with the appropriate MUSC clinicians.Entity

Additional Job Description
Education: Master's degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Experience: 3 years post graduate professional work experience in social work practice. Credentials: MSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners. Certified ACM/CCM, LISW or PHD in related field preferred.
