Job Description Summary

May assist with the generation or installation of systems software. Provides basic technical advice and assistance in matters related to programming activities. Assists in research and fact-finding to develop or modify information systems. Assists in preparing detailed specifications and technical documentation from which programs will be written. Participates in assessing design options, identifies and analyzes problems, authors codes, tests and debugs code, troubleshoots applications, maintains installed systems, produces and maintains documentation. Reviews data loaded into the computer systems for accuracy. Assists with developing software integration, external interface development and technical documentation. Assists with estimating the amount of analysis and development effort need based on requirements. Assists with recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse/enhancement of existing code. Assists in the development and execution of systems best practices across the agency. Responsible for the support and resolution of entry level to mid-level complex programs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, build and configure Epic research interface functionalities 35%
  • Work with customers and user analysts on system requirements to ensure all can utilize the Epic system as designed for research purposes through the use of interfaces. 25%
  • Test Epic research functionality to insure that it meets the stakeholder’s needs and that they are fit for use. 10%
  • Document the applications you develop so that other developers can also maintain your build and so user documentation can be written. 10%
  • Work with team on task resource requirements, task allocation, and team discussion. 10%
  • Provide help desk support and participate in 24x7 call on a rotating basis 10%

MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:

A high school diploma and two years work experience in computer programming. An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
