Job Description Summary
Under the direct supervision of Dr. B. Joseph Elmunzer, the research program coordinator will actively participate in and facilitate all aspects of concurrent research programs in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, with a central focus on a large multicenter randomized controlled trial funded by the National Institutes of Health. The candidate will work closely with the Statistical and Data Coordination Center and up to 15 participating sites. Some travel may be required.
This position actively assists the PIs with human subject research in the coordination of complex study activities as directed by the PI. Responsibilities include the recruitment of study participants within study time tables, coordinating and scheduling study visits, data collection, conducting research assessments, and maintaining up-to-date regulatory files. This position requires exercising best practices in the patient management, providing timely and accurately reports from research databases to PIs and research staff, and provides support for the research investigators, faculty, trainee physicians, grants administrator, and program manager.Entity

Job Description
Job Duties:
20% - Screening, enrolling, and following research subjects
20% - Interfacing with the Institutional Review Board to facilitate initial and maintenance of regulatory approval and to ensure research conduct of the highest regulatory standards
20% - Providing intellectual input into the design, execution, interpretation, and reporting of research programs
20% - Performing miscellaneous research tasks (e.g. bio-specimen acquisition & processing)
10% - Providing data management support to the investigators
10% - Providing comprehensive research administrative support to the investigators
Preferred Knowledge, Abilities, or Skills: Candidate should have knowledge of research best practices to include regulatory documentation, research study logistics, and be able to work on several different projects in parallel. Must be able to work independently, detail-oriented, personable, and have excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
